Name of the project: Advent get-togethers with senior citizens

Date: 29.11.2023

Nom: Julia E.

Why did you participate in the project?

I took part in the project because older people in particular suffer from loneliness at Christmas time and particularly miss their families and friends. That's why I wanted to make a small contribution to making at least a few people feel less lonely while eating cookies together, listening to music and having a couple of nice conversations or simply spend hours with a variety of couples.

What did you particularly like?

I particularly enjoyed the discussions with senior citizens. Many have talked about their families, about their lives in the past or wanted to know something about our lives. It was great to hear that they enjoyed our visit.

What did you perhaps not like so much?

There was nothing I didn't like about Social Day.

How important is volunteer work to you?

Volunteer work is very important to me, as everyone can make a contribution to society, no matter in what form. After all, we're all part of it.

What are you taking away from the project?

How important family and friends are. And that we could all call our parents or grandparents more often. 😊

3 words that best describe your volunteering experience?
