Trainees Romy and Hannah from E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH, together with their team, have decided to dedicate their time and energy to a sustainable project. Together with NABU Ruhr, they worked on a traditional orchard in Essen-Mühlheim. After a fulfilling day of working together and experiencing nature, we were able to ask them a few questions about their experience.
We trainees and also working students at E.ON Energie Deutschland GmbH have a time budget available that enables us to support a social or sustainable project locally. Of course, we didn't want to miss out on that and implemented our first project with lets at NABU in a meaningful way.
The short drink and snack break with Thomas, NABU's project manager, was very funny and the feeling of creating something big as a team made the project unforgettable! And full wheelbarrows motivate people to keep going.
Going out into nature more often and working in the garden can also be a lot of fun, is a great change from everyday office life and really exhausting! And, of course, the newly acquired knowledge of how important maintaining traditional orchards is for the environment and what ecological connections exist here.
Cohesion, variety, down-to-earth attitude.
We have the feeling that we have grown much closer together as a team and as a bonus we have found out who is really helping out and who is just doing so;)
Just do it!
